Ganesha Chaturthi (also known as Vināyaka Chaturthi) is a very auspicious day celebrated to pray to the god so that every new activity that is started is successfully completed without any obstacles.He is the God of knowledge. That is why we celebrate installing clay images of Ganesha in public pandals (temporary shrines) and group worship.
This ‘stage’ is improved with banana leaves and blooms, beautiful streamers and lights. Wonderfully shaded outlines called rangoli are attracted front of the stage and at the doorsteps.
Coconut, jiggery, natural products, red hibiscus blossoms, 5 varieties of fruits , 5 varities of nuts, especially “KOLUKATAI”and so on are offered at the sacred place of the icon and supplications and artis are sung uproariously by people in front of the idol
